Team Katusha dominated the final sprint on Vuelta a Andalucía's second stage, with Geert Steegmans leading a one-two finish. Danilo Napolitano took second place on the stage.
"Napolitano was on my wheel and he was ready to start if someone anticipated the sprint," said Steegmans. "But Filippo Pozzato was very fast and nobody was able to start their sprint before us. I started mine with 200 metres to go and I did a good sprint.
Katusha sport director Orlando Maini was impressed with the work of his team. "An extraordinary effort by everyone," he said. "Together with team Rabobank to catch the breakaway, and after to prepare the sprint. Pozzato did a big number to launch the sprint for Napolitano and Steegmans. He's a very good champion but also a very generous man."
